The Jon Jiles Group

Active from 1981 – 1985, the Jon Jiles Group consisted of the stellar rhythm section of Chris Pedersen on drums and Evan Jiles on bass while Jon handled guitars, vocals and occasional keyboards.

There were also regular visits from keyboardists Doug Morton, Kevin Monahan, Warren Paradise and Otis Coen (who appeared at all live shows as well as in the studio) and vocalists Charmaine Emery and Suellen McCutchen (who appeared at most live shows) and other musical guests.

Although the three lads continued to work together off and on, the Jon Jiles Group ceased to be in 1985 and became Jon’s solo thing when Evan joined Santa Cruz prog rockers FX and Chris joined Box O’ Laffs and Heaven Decoy (later going on to acclaim with Camper van Beethoven and the Monks of Doom).
